USA Travel VISA (B2) for Expat work in Malaysia

Hello Expats ,

Long time didn't post anything here . Today I would like to review you about " How expat work in Malaysia apply travel VISA USA ."


Step 1  : Expat need to check and apply DS160 in this website : https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

        - Select a location where you will apply for this visa : Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur

        - Please Preparing your photo in white background 2x2 size

        - After that you can fill you information in DS160 please take time with the application before you submit please check again .

   
    - After fill all of application don't forgot to print it preparing for  interview.

Step 2 :  Make Appointment with US Embassy for interview in this link : http://www.ustraveldocs.com/my

          - You have to create profile in the like above. Please choose  : "Nonimmigrant".

   

                - After that you have to fill some information here.

           - After that pay you have to pay for VISA Fee by this link :        http://www.ustraveldocs.com/my/my-niv-paymentinfo.asp#FeePaymentOptions

             My advised I have used Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) that way I transfer form my local bank account to Bank of America to US Embassy Account. When I got the receipt I can used Unique Virtual Account Number as a receipt.

           

       - After you submit  your Unique Virtual Account Number as a receipt.  You can make the appointment on the schedule.  You have to print you  Appointment confirmation preparing for interview too.

Step 3: What happen at the interview .

        

        - My appointment is 8:15 AM.  I have to show up there before 15 minutes and waiting the security calling my time queue. 

               What document Expat need to preparing .

                  1.  Appointment confirmation letter.

                  2. DS 160  Application.

                  3. Recent photo with white background size 2x2

                  4. ID Card.

                  5. Photo copy of passport.( Expat if you foreigner please preparing copy of passport)

                  6. VISA payment fee receipt.

                  7. Your salary slip. (Resent 3 months)

                  8. Bank statement ( Recent 6 months)

                      - About bank statement you can have it form E statement by your internet bank it must show your statement around recent 6-12 months ) 

                  9. Confirmation letter form your company.    

                 10. Your passport include work permit.

      Step 5 : How about my interview experience. 

Yes, check and scan! The Americans don't take any changes , for sure.

Consular : Passport please. (I have sent passport to him ,but he never ask me to show any document support between my interview.

Consular : Why you want to go to USA?

Me : I would like yo use my vacation there . Just want to travel around Greenville.

Consular : What is your job? ( He have looked on my passport inside have my work permit there)

Me : I'm working as the CSTS analyst . Provide information handing English and Thai language.  

Consular : Do you have any relative there?

Me : I don't have any relative there, sir.

Consular : How about friend?  (I already informed in DS 160 form I have friend there and I will stay in his place )

Me : Yes, I have one friend there,sir.

Consular : How you know him.

Me : We have meet in Bangkok before in volunteer for elephant hospital.

Consular : How long you have been here.

Me : Around 8 months, sir.

Consular : When your visa will expire.

Me : For now I'm hold single visa. It's will expire in the end of December, sir.

Consular : You graduated form where?

Me : I'm graduated form Chiangmai University in Thailand,s ir.

And he looking on his Monitor and have  type something. After that he didn't return my passport back and didn't say (Congrats , Success , Welcome to USA , Rejected or something else) That why I confuse and I have to asked him back.

Me : Hey , Sir is there anything done .

Consular : All done should be success. lol

Step 6 : How I can got passport back, If my visa approved. ( I choose pick up by myself at Aramax office)

        Note: Aramax is shipping company

     - Next day 3 PM I have checked on My passport tracking status form this link: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/my/my-niv-passporttrack.asp

   - After that I got massage form Aramax to bring my passport back .

      You need to praparing

       - Appointment confirmation letter.

       - ID Card

Step 7 : Check you information .

OMG  I got 10 years visa now. Love US embassy KL.

Warning :

If you have American Citizen boyfriend. Please don't mention in DS 160 forum and also can not mention about your boyfriend when you go to interview. 

You would have to show them your assets , bank balances, work contract , pay slips.

Plus having a boy friend in US will assume that having strong ties there which is unfavourable fact for granting the visa. The visa officer can think that you will go there and get married and stay there illegally.

So I will suggest you not to mention about your boyfriend and money in USD for your trip is fine.
The key to successfully getting a tourist visa is to prove that your intent is not to immigrate.
